MP3 Samples Of Music Composed By Chris Martin
- Este Valle de Fomeque
This was written after vacationing in Colombia in a mountain valley 2 hours SE of Bogota. The song was played extensively by the local radio station and t-shirts, CDs and tapes were sold in hopes of raising money for local charities.
- Celtic Dance
The inspiration for this song came from standing up for my brother’s wedding in Cahirciveen, County Kerry, Ireland.
- DNA
After reading Lewis Thomas’ The Lives of a Cell this song came to me.
- Invention
I taught myself musical sequencing by arranging Bach fugues for various synthesizers. This piece was composed during that period.
- Bittersweet
It was an overcast fall day and I was whiling away the afternoon at the grand piano of a friend. This song came to me almost complete in about an hour. It has never happened that way since.
- Greenhouse Shuffle
I played for almost two decades in the Lobby Bar of the Ritz Carlton, an enormous sky lighted open space filled with huge plants, some trees, twenty feet tall. It became my blues-boogie trademark while playing there.
- Wired
A frantic number too intense for most listeners.
- Massage
This is a true ambient piece of music. It is meant to be played at a low level in the background. I wrote it as therapeutic music for bodywork but many people have commented to me that it has been a wonderful sleep aid.
